Bedroom Decor

DSC04810bWhen we moved early last year, I was excited to have a blank slate to decorate my bedroom. It’s literally been a work in progress ever since then. I’m finally really pleased with where it is now. I started just with the basic color scheme of Robins Egg Blue and White and then things really just went from there. I will link to items where I can, but my biggest tip is to head to Marshall’s and Kirkland’s! I found so many adorable finishing touches there for so inexpensive. Also, my room is only 10 x 10, so I had to fit a lot in a small amount of space and as you’ll see my bookshelf is more for functionality than styling purposes. (Minus my cowboy boots!)

Easy Going

DSC04667bThis is my year round go to look when I don’t feel like actually trying. Depending on the season or the occasion, I’ll swap out the flats for sandals or boots and the short sleeve shirt for a long sleeve or tank top. I think it’s all in the details when you’re wearing just a tshirt and jeans. I ADORE my newest Rocksbox pieces including this dainty gold feather necklace from Urban Gem! Rocksbox is the most amazing jewelry subscription service. Each box has three designer jewelry pieces based on your preferences (colors, metals, types, etc) and you can keep them for up to 60 days or return your box as often as you’d like for three new ones sent to you! If you fall in love with any or all of the pieces, you can buy them for 20% off the retail price! I received a 6 month subscription for free to try out, but I have loved it so much that once it expires, I will be renewing for either $15/month for a year, $17/month for six months, or $19 monthly! It’s the perfect way to constantly change up your jewelry as often as you’d like!

Rainy Day

DSC04599bLiving in Arizona, I take advantage of every opportunity that I can to wear my hot pink rain boots. It was pouring one day this week, so I eagerly grabbed my rain boots and paired them with my striped shirt and pencil skirt. The boots, bag, and lipstick added the perfect pop of pink to my rainy day attire. By the way, yes the striped shirt is from the Target Girls section, that link was not a mistake. These are my favorite long sleeve tops and they’re SO inexpensive!

Chambray Overlay

DSC04559bOne of the easiest and most unexpected ways to make the most of your wardrobe no matter the season is to find the dresses that you can wear as skirts. You can do this either by belting with a sweater in the fall or winter or tying a tanktop or chambray in the spring and summer. I love it with chambrays over a pattern dress like this tribal one. You get more use out of your dresses and your closet feels fuller without any new purchases season to season!

Pink Pop

These chino shorts are my absolute fave. They go with everything since I consider hot pink a neutral. ;) I picked up this great summer to fall transition blouse and knew it’d be great to pair with those shorts. Black and white is going to be huge for the fall and it’s still light enough to wear now. Plus, I’m clearly still in the obsession phase with my RM 5 Zip Mini! This was a great look to wear to a casual birthday lunch and then to a family bbq.

Desk Essentials

DSC03644It’s no secret that buying office supplies is a thrill for me. Yes, just typing that makes me feel like an adult, ew. But I do absolutely love it. It used to be school supplies, but now it’s things for my desk and office. It’s easy to rack up a $75 bill at Staples on random crap you think you need, but I’m here to share the items I really love that are worth buying. I also did a similar post to this almost a year ago when I started mgD, so you can check that out here!

Quintessential Summer Dress

DSC03973This is a quintessential summer dress: the color, the cut, the detail. It just makes for the perfect dress for any occasion from a bbq to a nice dinner to a day at the beach. When I saw the Love Me Forever Lace Dress on Hope’s, I knew it’d be great for so much this season with just changing up the accessories and the shoes! I wore this to my brother’s birthday dinner and paired it with another wonderful Hope’s piece, the chunky flower gold chain necklace called the Picked For You and gold gladiator sandals. While I love everything about this dress, I think the lace arm detail under the cut out shoulder is my favorite part about it.  This dress and necklace are currently sold out on Hope’s, but please follow them on twitter or instagram for possible restocks, something similar, or a ton more adorable summer clothing that you will just HAVE to HAVE!

Getting Nautical

When it doubt, stripe it out. Seriously ask any semi preppy girl how many striped shirts she has and she probably couldn’t even count on her hands. There’s something so classic about a striped shirt that goes with everything. I added that pop with the red crops that doesn’t look over the top, but nautical and put together. The crops are those same Target ones from this post! I kept it fun with my metallic snake texture pointy toe ankle wrap flats from Shoemint  that I’m ABSOLUTELY in love with. They’re a fancy flat that adds something so special to any outfit. Plus, I have a 50% off your first order from Shoemint coupon code below! I’m also linking up with Adrienne at Black White Color for the debut of Trending Pretty Wednesday!!

Dots on Dots on Dots

Literally, it’s dots on dots on dots from head to toe. I decided to mix up textures for my outfit. My top is a polka dotted eyelet white blouse, my pants are a circle printed black crop, paired with my beige dotted loafers with tassels. I think it’s totally acceptable to wear the same style of print in multiple pieces if they’re in varying textures and sizes staying neutral in color. I also got to add some color in my clutch, lips, and nails, so that added some contrast to the look. Once again God blessed me with another windy day, thankfully for the most part my Lana Del Rey inspired crazy teased hair stayed put.

Orange Chevron

Chevron just screams fun, even for a Monday work day. I love the bright orange color that’s absolutely perfect for spring. I paired this great top with one of my new favorite pairs of work pants. If you know me, you know I’d wear leggings to work every day if I could. Well these are the closest thing I can get to leggings without ya know, being leggings. They’re comparable to the J.Crew Minnies at a fabulous Target price in a bunch of different colors. If you’re an office working girl, you must must MUST add them to your work wardrobe!  I just wish they hit right at my ankle like they’re supposed to. I’m a midget practically, so cuffing is a constant. Also, these photos were brought to you by the wind. It seems that every time I wear my hair done for blog photos it’s freaking WINDY, so I look like a crazy with my hair all over the place.
