Bedroom Decor

DSC04810bWhen we moved early last year, I was excited to have a blank slate to decorate my bedroom. It’s literally been a work in progress ever since then. I’m finally really pleased with where it is now. I started just with the basic color scheme of Robins Egg Blue and White and then things really just went from there. I will link to items where I can, but my biggest tip is to head to Marshall’s and Kirkland’s! I found so many adorable finishing touches there for so inexpensive. Also, my room is only 10 x 10, so I had to fit a lot in a small amount of space and as you’ll see my bookshelf is more for functionality than styling purposes. (Minus my cowboy boots!)

Everly Fall 2013 Lookbook

I really will let the photos speak for themselves because they’re beautiful. The clothing is such perfection. I love that the pieces don’t scream fall because it makes them easy to transition from season to season and that increases the wearibility. (Is that a word? No? Oh well.) I think the bold patterns make an amazing statement and can easily be paired with any neutrals. Plus, the polka dot dress…I need. Definitely go check out their lookbook for even more of these incredible photos.

Easy Going

Depending on the season or the occasion, I’ll swap out the flats for sandals or boots and the short sleeve shirt for a long sleeve or tank top. DSC04778bI’m a huge fan of the sixties housewife style. Call me old fashioned, but I like to think of my style as classic with a edge. I paired this fabulous polka dot shirtdress with stud pumps (similar to the beautiful Valentino, but like 5% of the cost and just as fabulous looking!) and my DIY pearl safety pin necklace. I think it’s the perfect mix of girly with the polka dots and pearls and edgy with the studs and safety pins. It’s all about keeping them guessing!

Creamsicle Cute

While I’m starting to build my fall wardrobe, I find myself being drawn to tulle, blush pinks, and flats despite my usual autumn taste for deep colors and boots. I mean, I’ve always had ballerina as my fall back career anyway. Even if you didn’t put down ballerina as your future job in kindergarten, don’t even tell me you’re not lusting over those amazing Chloe flats too.

Friday Link Love: Blogiversary Edition

If you’ve known me for more than a few years, you’ll probably know I’ve been an avid blogger since 7th grade. (Don’t go looking for any of those early blogs, they’re melodramatic and full of “omg I’m so in love” after two weeks of knowing someone.) First LiveJournal through middle school, Blogger through high school, Tumblr in college, and now WordPress. I never could have imagined the love, support, and friendships I’d gain through blogging in any form. Miss Glam Dan has been first seriously consistent stint with blogging and I’ve only fallen more in love with it over the past year. I never thought I could be a fashion blogger because at one time, I only had my Blackberry and a crappy 8 mega pixel camera and a closet that I thought I’d only be interested in. Boy was I wrong! :) I figured I’d do this Friday Link Love with links to my top 5 favorite posts and the top 5 most viewed posts I’ve done over the past year. Rainy Day

DSC04599bLiving in Arizona, I take advantage of every opportunity that I can to wear my hot pink rain boots. It was pouring one day this week, so I eagerly grabbed my rain boots and paired them with my striped shirt and pencil skirt. The boots, bag, and lipstick added the perfect pop of pink to my rainy day attire. By the way, yes the striped shirt is from the Target Girls section, that link was not a mistake. These are my favorite long sleeve tops and they’re SO inexpensive!

Lacey Peplum

DSC04570bThe day before the 4th, I went into one of my favorite boutiques, Apricot Lane, and the owner recommended this perfect peplum top! OBSESSED! I love the white lace and how it flatters my figure. The back is see thru, but with a matching cardigan, it’s great for work! I’ve been honestly wearing it nonstop though. Please enjoy the setting of the pictures in front of my office and also Fancy Pants’ reflection in the windows!  (And his thumbs up haha) I should also point out his “sexy truck,” his words of course ;).

Chambray Overlay

DSC04559bOne of the easiest and most unexpected ways to make the most of your wardrobe no matter the season is to find the dresses that you can wear as skirts. You can do this either by belting with a sweater in the fall or winter or tying a tanktop or chambray in the spring and summer. I love it with chambrays over a pattern dress like this tribal one. You get more use out of your dresses and your closet feels fuller without any new purchases season to season!
