Every preppy girl loves a good critter pant or short. I’m not going to lie if I see different prints or colors, I have the urge to snatch them all up. When I saw these ankle crops at Old Navy a few months ago, I knew they would be coming home with me. I’m basically obsessed with the little lobsters. I paired it with a flowy cream peasant top and nude and white sandals. This is a great semi casual work look that still adds some color with the lobster detailing and the statement bauble.
Here’s the most unconventional outfit post I’ve done thus far. Amidst the chaos of his graduation and because it was HIS graduation, I decided to spare him the annoyance of photographing me for one day. haha. I do have pictures of me in my outfit with other people, so I’m sharing those instead. This LBD from French Connection is sure to make another appearance on the blog. (In LA perhaps…) It has a great banded waistline, a wonderful sweetheart neckline, and pockets!!! I’m a sucker for any dress that has pockets, so is Vance, because whenever we’d stand during the ceremony he’d try to make me lose my balance by sticking his hand in my pocket. He got a few good laughs. Unfortunately, these shoes will never see another day on Miss Glam Dan. I almost fell no less than 75043 times. I wish I was exaggerating. Bleachers, stairs, uneven pavement, and a previous days leg workout made my ankles buckle over the height (and pain!!!) of these. As cute as they are, just not practical unless you’re being wheeled around in a stroller and not walking a step.
Two of my summer must haves were a chambray blazer and gingham button down. Picking up both of these was a match made in heaven for casual Friday. The blazer is so light and goes with everything including denim itself. I found it by accident at Marshall’s and was quite excited! I think it will be great to style this season.
I’m also rocking a Gorjana bracelet from my first RocksBox that I received from iFabbo as a 6 month membership gift certificate! I love the style of this wrap bracelet and I love the color and how well it pairs with my style! RockBox is a jewelry box subscription service for $19/month to try three pieces of curated designer high end jewelry per box. You can keep each box (all three pieces) for up to 60 days or return the box right away for 3 new pieces, but it’s always $19/month! The return shipping is already paid for because they provide a package to send it back in which is great. Basically you fill out a style profile and that’s how they choose what goes in your box and if you love an item, or two, or all three, you can purchase them at 20% the retail!! Definitely check it out if you like switching up your jewelry like me! This is probably my favorite subscription service I’ve ever tried and definitely be on the look out for future styling of my RocksBox pieces!
*I received the RocksBox 6 Month Membership Gift Certificate via iFabbo for free. I am not being paid or sponsored to promote their box and as always, I only accept and review items that I feel are relavant to my blog’s content.
I’ve literally become OBSESSED with silk cami’s and tank tops. I love the way they feel against your skin and how light and breezy they are (AND ALL OF THE COLORS AND PRINTS!). Perfect for summer! There’s something sexy cute about them because they’re not exactly lingerie, but they’re borderline which makes them a little scandalous to wear. Who doesn’t need a bit of scandal in their boring life? ;) I love the idea of pairing them with some cute shorts like these for a lunch or weekend mall trip. They’re also fabulous under a blazerwith some skinnies and nude pumps for a night out. I think for a date, a silk tank would be perfect tucked into a circle skirtwith a pair of wedges and a long chain necklace for some sparkle.
Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all of my mother readers! (dog moms too!) ;) Yesterday was spent in this flowy royal blue high low with my mom and brothers. We went to brunch in the morning and then just relaxed all day. It was such a good day. This color totally pops on any skin tone and I think it’s so bright and fun for summer. Plus, everything I want to wear right now is this light chiffon material because it is SO freaking hot out now.
I also wanna say thank you to my wonderful Momma who has been a constant support in my life. She is the most selfless, kind, and strong woman I know and if I could become half of the mom, half of the person she is. :)
I picked up these three winning pieces in the last week. The Olivia + Joy bag is the perfect great staple black leather bag which surprisingly I didn’t have. The perfect classic staple for any girl’s wardrobe — the navy striped dress. This one is a MUST on sale right now from Banana Republic! The ponte material keeps it form fitting and flattering combined with the elbow length sleeves. But really for me, one of my favorite purchases in a long time (how often do I say that? haha) are these pointed toe pumps. My goodness, Marshalls you win again. Clearance BCBG light pink patent pumps. These three staples pull together a completely classic year round (in Arizona) look that will never be tired.
Yellow is one of those universally “spring” colors and this dress is just so perfect for a warm day. I scooped this Lilly dress up during the sale on Rue La La and I’m in looove. It’s so comfortable and can be dressed down with Jacks or up with wedges/heels. I wore this to my baby brother’s soccer game in the morning and straight to my cousin’s babyshower in the afternoon. I honestly wish I had purchased this dress in every color because it kept me cool and it’s so adorable with the contrasting top color and patterns on the bottom! I can see me wearing this a ton for the next two seasons.
This is an effortless business casual look. I put together this look for my speaking debut (which went super well I might add!!) at our quarterly office meeting. I loved trading my heels for little white Keds a la Baby from Dirty Dancing. The real star of the show for this outfit was my newest and probably favorite DIY project ever ever, the pearl necklace with gold safety pins. I created this DIY from Honestly WTFand it was SO easy and so inexpensive (I picked up a Forever21 Pearl Necklace for $1.80!!). I’m a pearls girl, but this is just a new and chic twist on it inspired by the fabulous jewelry designer, Tom Binns. I think it’s always a great idea to take a simple outfit and punch it up with a great statement piece.
So I’ve gone from horizontal stripes yesterday to vertical ones today! This purple vertical striped chiffon top is a perfect spring to summer transition top because it’s breezy and drapey. I’m also rocking the second day waves with an eyelet bow headband. As you can see from this post especially I’ve started more working on editing. It’s become a big part of my outfit posts, dedicating the time to Photoshop. I’m loving experimenting with levels and colors and effects. My push to do this? Blogshop! Kimmie had asked me if I had heard about it and I hadn’t. I looked it up and knew I had to go (despit. Photoshop and blogging in a two day seminar in LA in June with 20-25 other people taught by Angela and Bri of AngelaandIthyle.com and Designlovefest.com respectably. I’m so excited to be able to learn so much more about Photoshop and how to apply it to miss GLAM dan. By the way, the American Eagle overload was definitely not planned haha!
When it doubt, stripe it out. Seriously ask any semi preppy girl how many striped shirts she has and she probably couldn’t even count on her hands. There’s something so classic about a striped shirt that goes with everything. I added that pop with the red crops that doesn’t look over the top, but nautical and put together. The crops are those same Target ones from this post! I kept it fun with my metallic snake texture pointy toe ankle wrap flats from Shoemint that I’m ABSOLUTELY in love with. They’re a fancy flat that adds something so special to any outfit. Plus, I have a 50% off your first order from Shoemint coupon code below! I’m also linking up with Adrienne at Black White Color for the debut of Trending Pretty Wednesday!!
