I’m excited to be taking my first (and only) non work, all fun vacay of the summer. We’ll be doing a quick weekend getaway to my favorite place in the world and COOLER WEATHER, yes! Fancy Pants and I are both playing in the Over the Line tournament in San Diego this weekend. He planned on playing in the tournament for over a year. I was a spur the moment entry, as in just a few days ago. I wanted to share with you guys a few of my beach ready outfits for this weekend.
Two of my summer must haves were a chambray blazer and gingham button down. Picking up both of these was a match made in heaven for casual Friday. The blazer is so light and goes with everything including denim itself. I found it by accident at Marshall’s and was quite excited! I think it will be great to style this season.
I’m also rocking a Gorjana bracelet from my first RocksBox that I received from iFabbo as a 6 month membership gift certificate! I love the style of this wrap bracelet and I love the color and how well it pairs with my style! RockBox is a jewelry box subscription service for $19/month to try three pieces of curated designer high end jewelry per box. You can keep each box (all three pieces) for up to 60 days or return the box right away for 3 new pieces, but it’s always $19/month! The return shipping is already paid for because they provide a package to send it back in which is great. Basically you fill out a style profile and that’s how they choose what goes in your box and if you love an item, or two, or all three, you can purchase them at 20% the retail!! Definitely check it out if you like switching up your jewelry like me! This is probably my favorite subscription service I’ve ever tried and definitely be on the look out for future styling of my RocksBox pieces!
*I received the RocksBox 6 Month Membership Gift Certificate via iFabbo for free. I am not being paid or sponsored to promote their box and as always, I only accept and review items that I feel are relavant to my blog’s content.
Happy Belated Mother’s Day to all of my mother readers! (dog moms too!) ;) Yesterday was spent in this flowy royal blue high low with my mom and brothers. We went to brunch in the morning and then just relaxed all day. It was such a good day. This color totally pops on any skin tone and I think it’s so bright and fun for summer. Plus, everything I want to wear right now is this light chiffon material because it is SO freaking hot out now.
I also wanna say thank you to my wonderful Momma who has been a constant support in my life. She is the most selfless, kind, and strong woman I know and if I could become half of the mom, half of the person she is. :)
When it doubt, stripe it out. Seriously ask any semi preppy girl how many striped shirts she has and she probably couldn’t even count on her hands. There’s something so classic about a striped shirt that goes with everything. I added that pop with the red crops that doesn’t look over the top, but nautical and put together. The crops are those same Target ones from this post! I kept it fun with my metallic snake texture pointy toe ankle wrap flats from Shoemint that I’m ABSOLUTELY in love with. They’re a fancy flat that adds something so special to any outfit. Plus, I have a 50% off your first order from Shoemint coupon code below! I’m also linking up with Adrienne at Black White Color for the debut of Trending Pretty Wednesday!!
I hope everyone had a fabulous Easter Sunday celebrating such an amazing day with their families and friends. I was noticeably absent yesterday because I was doing the very same. I split my day between church, my family (large bbq by the pool) and Fancy Pants’ family (brunch at the Country Club), so it was just a phenomenal day overall. I’ve been planning my Easter outfit for a few weeks. When I saw the “I Love You So Dress” from Hope’s, I knew it had to be mine for this occasion because the bow ruffle detailing on the back is just to die. I scooped it up in this mint cockatoo color and also baby pink, but the mint was the winner. I also wore my brand new Shoemint Jaja wedges for the first time that were SO incredibly comfortable and so on trend for spring with the metallic strap accent. As you can also tell I somehow convinced Fancy Pants to match with me (THANK YOU BABY!!) and I think he looked so wonderful! His shirt is from American Eagle, which is currently having 40% off everything until tomorrow!!
Some weeks just fly by and others drag on like nobody’s business. This week dragged. I’ve been chasing the weekend since Monday practically. I started on the Tone it Up Meal Plan this week and it hasn’t been as difficult as I thought. (More on that in another post!) I’ve already lost 7 lbs which is fabulous because I’ve been eating mostly clean. Also I share in my post this week an adorable surprise package from the lovely Kimberly who blogs on Mornings at Pannikin and has recently launched Harriet Ann Creativewhich is a custom design company that specializes in stationary and event branding (invitations, thank yous, etc). I’m lucky enough to receive little notes and surprises (caramels, cookies) from Kimmie all the time, so I can attest to how great her work is. If you’re looking for stationary or things for your next party or get together, contact her: firstname.lastname@example.org!!! As always, I’m linking up with Sara at With a Hint of Bourbon. The button is on her blog or in my sidebar! :)

A new week always comes much faster than we anticipate. Thankfully this past weekend was a lot of fun. I went to help Fancy Pants practice for softball (I can’t slow pitch for crap), I got to catch up with one of close long time friends who was in town for the weekend, and yesterday I got treated to a mini Old Navy shopping spree of sorts. Everything purchased yesterday was GUESS WHAT, ON SALE! It was phenomenal to pick up some pieces that I was searching for and also a few other special ones. This shirt was one that I wanted and it’s surprise surprise, chambray at only $7!!! But I love this one because it’s short sleeve and a bit darker than my other staple one, so it will transition into spring and summer. I wanted this look to be very causal chic which was easily achieved with the plum jeans and the boots. I wanted to of course make it a little cuter, so I added the statement gem necklace in the neutral blush and gold tones.
Literally found the most perfect title for these posts: outfit reflections because come on I’m taking them in mirrors and doors…literal reflections. Okay, you get it. Sometimes I’m just too witty for my own good. I frequently take pictures of my outfits in mirrors because I know they probably won’t make it into actual full ensemble posts, but are perfect for these. I like breaking down my day to day looks for work and play. A majority of the outfits you see in full posts are for work, but some of these are my weekend casuals which I have requests for too. So let’s get to it — some of my December Outfit Reflections.
Long sleeve: Ralph Lauren / Leggings: Express / Scarf: H&M / Headband: Nordstrom BP
Weekend: Christmas Party
Top: Express / Leather Jeggings: American Eagle / Wedges: Mix No.6 / Crossbody: Steve Madden
I have a serious addiction to big cozy sweaters, but they can overwhelming on my frame. The solution — belting them. I actually have this same one in ivory as well. They’re my favorite easy outfits because I can just switch up the belt or scarf and wear them with jeans or leggings and boots. This morning I pressed snoozed one too many times and came up with this outfit with my head still on the pillow. I threw this on and swiped COVERGIRL’s awesome blastflipstick in Vixen (review to come from BzzAgent) to add something special to my look. It made for a comfy and easy day at work while still feeling cute on no sleep.
If you saw my instagram post this morning, then you were quite aware that we had a “severe weather alert” because woah, it was actually going to feel like November today in the mid 60’s. It was my baby brother’s last football game of the season and it was super windy out, so I was glad I was bundled up and cozy. I decided to mix it up and wear gray polka dot leggings instead of the typical plain black. They also paired well with the leopard scarf. Mixing patterns is one of my favorite things, but sometimes I don’t know how to do it without looking like a crazy person. Using neutral similar colors and smaller patterns, it’s easily accomplished. And come on, no chilly day is complete without my signature French Vanilla latte in a red cup!!
love the double zipper detailing on these boots!
Sweater: H&M // Leggings: American Eagle // Scarf: Ann Taylor LOFT // Boots: Shoemint Nails: essie where’s my chaffeur
By the way, if you’re a shoe-aholic and you’ve never heard of Shoemint (which is absurd), you need to go sign up now! I have about 5 pairs of shoes from there and I’m obsessed! They’re designed by Rachel Bilson and made by Steve Madden and they’re so unique and fabulous and AMAZING quality!! Also right now, your first pair of shoes is 20% off with the code: RACHEL20.
