Eggcellent Hard Boiled Eggs in the Oven

hardboiled eggs

If you’re a Pinterest addict like I am, then you’ve seen the Hard Boiled Eggs in the Oven and thought hmm is that for real? Well, I’m a hardboiled egg freak. I eat two for breakfast almost every single day, but I hate actually hard boiling them. I decided to give them in a muffin tin in the oven for a whirl. It was AWESOME. 12 at a time, perfectly cooked and ready for me everyday that week. This also an Easter egg game changer since you can do them 12 at a time for dyeing!! This is the recipe I used. But I figured I’d repost it here.

What You’ll Need:

  • A Dozen Large Eggs
  • A Large Muffin Tin
  • An Ice Water Bath

What to Do:

  1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees and place one egg in each slot. Don’t worry they won’t really move around.
  2. Put them in the oven for 25-30 minutes. I did 25 because my oven is really hot.
  3. Pull them out and let them stand for 1 minute. They will have little brown spots on them, but they will go away in the water or after rinsing.
  4. Remove each one and place it in the ice bath for 10 minutes.
  5. Your eggs are now ready to enjoy or put in the fridge or DYED!!! YAY :)! How eggciting!

Thanksgiving Desserts and Decor

Thanksgiving is a huge deal for my family. Every year since I can remember my whole family (mom’s and dad’s sides) have headed to my uncle and his wife’s house to celebrate and show our thanks for our wonderful family. Being that I was a baking and pastry student, there are high expectations for what I’ll provide for dessert for Thanksgiving. Hello pinterest! I’ve included not only some recipes, but some cute decor ideas. I’m straying away from the norm of pumpkin or pecan pie. (Last year I worked at a bakery and I filled over 800 pumpkin pies myself, so I still have a problem with the smell of pumpkin pie hahaha).

It’s B – Day Hairspiration

All images via Pinterest

No it’s not my birthday (B-Day) or anyone else’s I know for that matter. It’s the day I’m headed to the salon to get my hair done. I’ve been putting it off for over a month and a half. My roots have been growing in like crazy because I’ve been sort of lightening my hair in a way on my own using the Bed Head Dumb Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner that adds vibrancy to Highlighted/Bleached Blondes. It’s actually been making the light brown/dark blonde highlights I got originally in July that I was super unhappy with a lot brighter which is exactly what I wanted. This afternoon I don’t know what I’ll end up doing. I tend to change my mind at the last minute when it comes to my hair. I wanted to post some of my inspiration for “B – day,” or Blonde Day! Yes, I’m doing it. I think I’m going to go all the way to Blonde. I’ve been wanting to for a long long time, but have seriously hesitated for many reasons.

I think I realized I’m only 21 once and the older I get, the less spontaneous I’ll be. Basically if I don’t do it while I’m young, I probably won’t ever do it and who knows, it might be phenomenal. It will be a change, but there’s so many celebs who are naturally dark brown like me and are able to go blonde. My favorite most recent example is Channing Tatum’s wife, Jenna Dewan. The pictures of her with a short blonde do and Fancy Pants’ encouragement were the real push I needed to go ahead with it.

I can’t wait to show you guys the result. Fingers crossed it looks half way decent, you guys! Happy Friday!

M to F Outfits

Sorry guys!! I’m a little sad about it, but my outfit posts are few and far between these past few weeks. I wish I could say I’ve been busy with work, but I haven’t spent much time at work because I got chosen to be on a jury. (like Elle Woods status, except I’m not a lawyer…) I’m going to try to post two outfits this coming week, but I’ll be in the court room Monday – Thursday of this week, so my posts will all be queued unfortunately. I wanted to get in a few outfits this post for some some end of summer/almost fall fashion. I think I’m going to call these M to F outfits for Monday through Friday.

I’m really pleased with my choices this week despite being pretty frustrated about spending half of my typical work week in a courtroom downtown. Can’t wait to get a variety of posts in this week while I’m gone.

Thursday Pick Me Up

I’m exhausted. I’m anxious. I haven’t slept, so I scrolled through my Pinterest quotations board and found this. It’s almost Friday and yes, I’m now stuck on a jury for a week, but I will get up and make the best of it with some lipstick and an iced latte.

I hope this inspires you to do the same if you’re dragging and trying to hold out for that Friday night drink like me.

Brownie Mugs

I’ve seen lots of cute desserts and what not made in mugs, but never really believed it could actually work and taste good. The other day I was planning a delish dinner for two (Porkchops & Mashed Potatoes, anyone?) and I just was not too thrilled about also making dessert. I mean after you cook a full meal, who really wants to go all out on a dessert? I pulled up Pinterest, found a recipe, grabbed the few ingredients, and pulled out two mugs.

What You’ll Need for One Brownie Mug:

– One Mug

– One Spoon

– 1/4 Cup of Sugar

– 1/4 Cup of Flour

– 2 TBS of Cocoa

– 2 TBS of Vegetable Oil

– 3 TBS of Water

– Pinch of Salt

1. Add your dry ingredients to the mug.

2. Add your wet ingredients to your dry ingredients.

3. Stir, stir, stir till it’s smooth and well incorporated.

4. Microwave for 1 minute and 40 seconds.

5. Add ice cream if you wish and enjoy a quick, easy, and delicious Brownie Mug!

Fancy Pants enjoying his brownie mug :)
