Rainy Day

DSC04599bLiving in Arizona, I take advantage of every opportunity that I can to wear my hot pink rain boots. It was pouring one day this week, so I eagerly grabbed my rain boots and paired them with my striped shirt and pencil skirt. The boots, bag, and lipstick added the perfect pop of pink to my rainy day attire. By the way, yes the striped shirt is from the Target Girls section, that link was not a mistake. These are my favorite long sleeve tops and they’re SO inexpensive!

Lacey Peplum

DSC04570bThe day before the 4th, I went into one of my favorite boutiques, Apricot Lane, and the owner recommended this perfect peplum top! OBSESSED! I love the white lace and how it flatters my figure. The back is see thru, but with a matching cardigan, it’s great for work! I’ve been honestly wearing it nonstop though. Please enjoy the setting of the pictures in front of my office and also Fancy Pants’ reflection in the windows!  (And his thumbs up haha) I should also point out his “sexy truck,” his words of course ;).

Chambray Overlay

DSC04559bOne of the easiest and most unexpected ways to make the most of your wardrobe no matter the season is to find the dresses that you can wear as skirts. You can do this either by belting with a sweater in the fall or winter or tying a tanktop or chambray in the spring and summer. I love it with chambrays over a pattern dress like this tribal one. You get more use out of your dresses and your closet feels fuller without any new purchases season to season!

Tribal Romper

DSC04114bMy romper addiction grows daily. Truly, if I could wear a romper all day every day, I would. Just ask my mom, it’s that bad. This is the newest one in my collection and I’m obsessed with the fun tribal print. It’s cute, comfortable, and so summer appropriate. It’s also just long enough (a typical issue for rompers) and it has an adorable heart cut out in the back for an extra something. Fancy Pants took these amazing style photos after we got lost for 45 minutes looking for a Chase Bank in downtown San Diego, there’s always a positive to every negative right? I’d also like to share the wonderful fact that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started today and in this post, I’m sharing my purchase from the Early Access: my Rebecca Minkoff 5 Zip Mini Crossbody bag with silver hardwear. I looooove. It’s a perfect size for all of the essentials, a perfect color for year round, and a perfect price right now during the sale!!

SSCO Signature Tank Top

DSC04454bAfter hearing absolutely wonderful things about The Southern Shirt Company, I placed my first order prior to heading to San Diego and I bought two of their unisex Signature Tank Tops: one for me (Neon Pink, naturally) and one for Fancy Pants (in Kiwi)! I really wanted us to have something easy to throw on at the beach and to walk around town in. These absolutely fit the bill. They were comfy 100% cotton and had that perfect casual loose “just a bit too big, but seriously cute” summer look to them. It’s right up Fancy Pants’ alley to wear a casual tank every single day if he can and I’ve been happily wearing mine as often as possible…when I’m not confined to a desk. Guaranteed, these won’t be the last ones I buy.

Vesting Up a Maxi

DSC04091bMy love for this denim vest shouldn’t be any surprise. It’s been one of my most versatile warm weather pieces this year. I decided change up the look of a simple strapless maxi by half way buttoning up the vest over top for the look of a shirt. It was crazy slimming and hit my waist at the tiniest part. I think it’s a perfect addition to any maxi, especially a patterned one for a great Bohemian look. Plus, if you didn’t notice from my last personal style post, my hair is darker! Eeeps! This is my natural color and I’ve fallen back in love with it. I also decided to take the plunge and get a Brazilian blowout and let me just tell you, best hair decision ever. But that’s another post for another day. ;)

DSC04066BHappy Independence day lovelies!! I hope you’re all having a fabulously festive fourth with your friends and family! (Say that five times fast haha.) I decided to share a classic All American look with the star of the outfit being this effortless Tommy Hilfiger shirt dress. Can’t get more Americana than that. I belted it and added Jacks to complete an easy summer look for work and play! Shirt dresses are great way to look put together without making a huge effort everyday, plus they’re not stuffy in heat.

Walk on the Wild Side

DSC04030While my camera self timer and I are still at odds and my brother has a job, I’m finding it more difficult each day to get shots that I actually love especially when it’s 115 and I’m dying outside. These pictures may have turned out a bit more artsy than I anticipated, but I think they’re a great showcase of how to make a simple cotton LBD a little wild.

All About Pose

If you’re in the fashion and beauty world, chances are you’ve heard of the app, PoseBut if you haven’t, in a nutshell it’s a real time way to showcase what you’re wearing and loving with millions of the other fashion obsessed. It’s an amazing way to connect with other real people, real bloggers, and real celebrities, basically anyone who wants you to see their style. You can look up trends, different ways to wear items, and follow all of those people who inspire your style through your Stream. I use it as an instant way to share my outfits with my followers directly through Pose (either online or on the iOS or Android app) and the social media (Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr) it links to! It’s quick, easy, and so much fun to tag your own pictures with the items to show everyone what you’re wearing from your top right down to your blush color. It’s amazing. Here’s a little run down of how it works:

Upload or take a picture from your phone. Decide what layout: either one big picture or a few different in a collage format. Begin tagging the items in your look by just tapping on the item, selecting a category from clothing pieces, shoes, makeup etc., then type and select the brand. When you’re all done, you’ll see all of the tags on your picture and you can add text and choose where you want to share it: facebook, twitter, tumblr. Ta-da it’s uploaded to your stream of people you follow and also to all of your chosen social networking sites! It’s an Outfit of the Day in Under 10 minutes. I love using it to put up quick OOTD’s that never make it up on the blog for whatever reason.

Even if you don’t post your own outfits, you can always share collages of items you’re loving or just follow others for consistent style inspiration. It also has an awesome feature to see the ways people are wearing certain trends or clothing pieces if you’re looking for new ideas! Definitely check it out and also follow my Pose profile here, so I can follow you back. :) By the way, if you haven’t seen the full look that I used in my pose example, go look here.

Quintessential Summer Dress

DSC03973This is a quintessential summer dress: the color, the cut, the detail. It just makes for the perfect dress for any occasion from a bbq to a nice dinner to a day at the beach. When I saw the Love Me Forever Lace Dress on Hope’s, I knew it’d be great for so much this season with just changing up the accessories and the shoes! I wore this to my brother’s birthday dinner and paired it with another wonderful Hope’s piece, the chunky flower gold chain necklace called the Picked For You and gold gladiator sandals. While I love everything about this dress, I think the lace arm detail under the cut out shoulder is my favorite part about it.  This dress and necklace are currently sold out on Hope’s, but please follow them on twitter or instagram for possible restocks, something similar, or a ton more adorable summer clothing that you will just HAVE to HAVE!
