My heart is so full today because of that kid up there. It was two years ago today that after one date and just a couple of days, Fancy Pants, asked me to be his girlfriend. I knew I was lucky, but with each passing day I’ve found more reasons that I’m the luckiest. After a few failed relationships, a broken heart or two, my confidence and faith in love was basically zilch, non existent. That boy changed all of that.
I got a job at a math tutoring center in January 2009 and this guy came in tuesday and thursday and hassled me for answers, constantly made me laugh, and even followed me home a time or two. ;) Sparks flew. Fast forward two years later, one facebook chat, and a few hour long date over Chipotle, Cold Stone, and Build A Bear and I was falling. Now I sit here, two years later wondering where the time went. We’ve seen each other through ups, downs, and changes galore. He gets me. Fancy Pants is one of the most giving, kind, caring, and amazing people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. His dreams are big, but his heart is even bigger. He keeps me strong and is my constant source of encouragement and motivation. I’m so blessed that God gave me this incredible human being. Even through the tough days, I know I can always count on him for a laugh and smile. I’ve never had such chemistry or clicked so well with anyone, like I do with FP. He’s my other half.
I could go on and on, believe me I would, but I think you get the picture. He’s wonderful. Two years flew by and I absolutely cannot wait to see what’s in store for the next hundred or so. ;) I know God has big things in store for each of us and even more for us together. I love you so mush, darling. Thank you for being the best thing that’s ever happened to me, truly. I couldn’t imagine spending my life with anyone else.
Let’s get nostalgic for a hot second. Four years ago I was putting on my high school cap and gown and crossing the stage to receive my diploma (holder, not the real piece of paper). Today the first of my baby brothers, affectionately known as G/Grimsby, will be doing the very same. I’m so excited for him and so proud of the wonderful person he’s become. Seriously, he’s ridiculously talented in every area of art and he’s one of the kindest people I know. He’s also the one you’ll find behind the lens of 98% of the pictures here on Miss Glam Dan, so honestly I attribute a lot of my success to him and his photography. Plus he puts up with my impatience and nitpickiness with all of the pictures. He’s going to do big things, as cliche as it sounds, he will make a name for himself and that will be so amazing to witness as his big sister and partner in crime. And in case you’re wondering, his real name is neither G or Grimsby. The nickname came as a result of watching The Little Mermaid and deciding that he was that old man with the long gray hair pulled into a ponytail and the tight pants. haha and it just sort of stuck.
While things seem to be spinning out of control at the moment and I’m really just trying to get a grasp on everything that seems to be changing, I’ve been blessed with one constant: Fancy Pants. He’s this wonderful person, this light in my life. I’ve had a few questions about him and our relationship and yada yada. I didn’t want to bore you guys TOO MUCH. But I met him four years ago when I was his tutor my senior year of high school and he was the student (almost 2 years younger than me). I know, how freaking cliche?! He caught me instantly with his infectious energy and the way he made me laugh.
I’m pleased to say that those things I fell for in the beginning are still two of the MANY things that I fall in love with every day. Him and I have both been in less than desirable relationships with fighting and crappy stuff. While those things sucked, we were able to walk into this one with a different view and a fresh take on love. He’s much more of a support than I’ve ever found in anyone. He has a very special way of cutting to the core of my worrying and anxiety about problems and reminding me of what matters. He keeps me grounded. I never realized how important it is to find someone like that until I had him and my bad days were never awful because he was always there. I prayed to find that fit in my life. I know I’m not making much sense with my rambly thoughts and what not, but the whole point was just to say how you need to find someone who creates balance in your life, not chaos.
Vee, you’re basically the sunshine in my sky and here we are on the edge of something so wonderful and scary. But I’m so ready to jump with your hand in mine. If it’s meant to be, God will make it happen. I’m so excited for the possibilities we have ahead of us for the next year and for the rest of our lives. I love you to the moon and back.
I’m linking up with Sara at Pearls and Curls (who has a fabulous new layout with accompanying S.I.R button), so if you’re posting your instagram recap of the week, definitely go link up! This week has been another crazy one with my aunt still in the hospital, I’ve been going from work to the hospital every day. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers for good news and speedy recovery. This weekend has been so wonderfully rainy. Hi everyone!!! I’m putting this up Saturday afternoon while doing my hair. Better late than never! :) I’ve had a crazy week at work tackling some new projects including our company website. It’s a WordPress based site, so I’ve been able to tweak it with my current knowledge and add so many cool new features from various tutorials. It’s been a large undertaking, but I’m enjoying it. Also, my aunt is currently in the hospital following a heart surgery, so I’ve been back and forth with not much time in my week to spare. I wanted to still get some posts up this weekend though. :) As always, if you do an instagram recap, link up with Sara at With a Hint of Bourbon and grab that button on the side.

So Saturday Instagram Recap is comin’ at ya on Sunday…awk, but whatevs. My favorite weeks are the weeks spent with Fancy Pants and last week was one of them. Happy Valentine’s Day to all of my lovelies: friends, family, and wonderful readers. I think this holiday is a wonderful reminder to celebrate those that we love. I’m not going to go into a soap box speech about enjoying the day even if you’re single. There’s plenty of that already out there. I just think there’s just such a great feeling on Valentine’s Day to look around and see people showing affection. It’s also a reminder to not take this feeling and day and those people you love for granted.
This quote sums it up best for me.
“Unless it’s mad, passionate, extraordinary love, it’s a waste of time. There are too many mediocre things in life. Love should not be one of them.”
I’m excited to enjoy my day filled with conversation hearts, Valentine’s mugs of tea, and time with my Valentine, the wonderful Fancy Pants. I hope all of you have a day with hearts and love galore!
Today’s the last day of 2012!!! Can you even believe it!? This year, as cliche as it sounds, really flew by. 2012 has been one of the best years of my life giving me the most life changes and stability and a lot of things I never dreamed of: A FULL TIME JOB, what!? Yeah! :) This blog has also been one of the greatest parts of this year. I never in a million years thought I’d have 13,000 views and 56 WordPress followers in only 4 months. I’d like to graciously thank all of you out there. I’m glad you’ve stuck by me and let me just tell you that 2013 is looking to be even bigger and brighter in my life and on missglamdan! I absolutely thought it was only appropriate to do the last Monday of the year as a round up of some of my favorite Instagram pictures from this year. I’ll summarize them below, but there were just too many to even begin to count! Make sure to follow me on instagram for next year’s great pictures! (@Daniefaz)
Our family trip to Alaska, turning 21, holidays, cooking, vacationing in California, my new job/desk, Starbucks gold, the lovely days in jury duty, going blonde, a new phone, and my day to day joys and pleasures.
I hope you all have a fabulous NYE tonight and all stay safe! Happy New Year!!
Happy Monday everyone!!! This is the second to last Monday before eeeeps CHRISTMAS!!! So exciting!! I’m currently typing this on Monday which is crazy because I usually have this post scheduled either Saturday or Sunday, but I’ve had a lazy weekend away from my laptop which has been positively delightful. I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the events of this past Friday in Newtown, Connecticut. I’m very blessed with so many things daily and these posts always show that and this weekend there were so many who saw their very lives broken due to the loss of someone close to them and the destruction of a town in mere moments. I hope that we can all take a moment to pray for them and their healing and their hope and faith eventually restored. I can’t even imagine how it must feel to pick up the pieces of your life after that tragedy and I just hope that they find some peace amongst the horrible chaos.
