My heart is so full today because of that kid up there. It was two years ago today that after one date and just a couple of days, Fancy Pants, asked me to be his girlfriend. I knew I was lucky, but with each passing day I’ve found more reasons that I’m the luckiest. After a few failed relationships, a broken heart or two, my confidence and faith in love was basically zilch, non existent. That boy changed all of that.
I got a job at a math tutoring center in January 2009 and this guy came in tuesday and thursday and hassled me for answers, constantly made me laugh, and even followed me home a time or two. ;) Sparks flew. Fast forward two years later, one facebook chat, and a few hour long date over Chipotle, Cold Stone, and Build A Bear and I was falling. Now I sit here, two years later wondering where the time went. We’ve seen each other through ups, downs, and changes galore. He gets me. Fancy Pants is one of the most giving, kind, caring, and amazing people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. His dreams are big, but his heart is even bigger. He keeps me strong and is my constant source of encouragement and motivation. I’m so blessed that God gave me this incredible human being. Even through the tough days, I know I can always count on him for a laugh and smile. I’ve never had such chemistry or clicked so well with anyone, like I do with FP. He’s my other half.
I could go on and on, believe me I would, but I think you get the picture. He’s wonderful. Two years flew by and I absolutely cannot wait to see what’s in store for the next hundred or so. ;) I know God has big things in store for each of us and even more for us together. I love you so mush, darling. Thank you for being the best thing that’s ever happened to me, truly. I couldn’t imagine spending my life with anyone else.
This has already started out to be an amazing weekend and it’s only Saturday morning!! I think that working in an adult job for over a year now has made me far too serious. I get bothered by the littlest things and let them completely consume or ruin my whole day. Every day, you should find time to laugh even when you’re having a bad day. You should find joy in the things that are pretty ridiculous in your life especially the things you can’t control. If you think you don’t have those moments, it’s because you’re looking at them as life ruiners instead of life makers. Make those moments make you appreciate being alive and having the ability to laugh still. Even in the two years that FP and I have been together, I know I’ve let the seriousness and monotony control my day to day life, but watching back our early vlogs, it was great to see how much I laughed at the really stupid moments that happened just while we drove.
When your pants split or your top knot gets caught in a tree or you get hit by a bicycle and fall into a bush, just laugh it off because telling those stories (as embarrassing as they are) are going to make other people laugh and be able to get out of the seriousness of their day. Enjoy life, kids. Laugh it off and have a fabulous Thursday!
EXACTLY one year ago today I pressed Publish on my first blog post on Miss Glam Dan. If you’ve known me for more than a few years, you’ll probably know I’ve been an avid blogger since 7th grade. (Don’t go looking for any of those early blogs, they’re melodramatic and full of “omg I’m so in love” after two weeks of knowing someone.) First LiveJournal through middle school, Blogger through high school, Tumblr in college, and now WordPress. I never could have imagined the love, support, and friendships I’d gain through blogging in any form. Miss Glam Dan has been first seriously consistent stint with blogging and I’ve only fallen more in love with it over the past year. I never thought I could be a fashion blogger because at one time, I only had my Blackberry and a crappy 8 mega pixel camera and a closet that I thought I’d only be interested in. Boy was I wrong! :) I figured I’d do this Friday Link Love with links to my top 5 favorite posts and the top 5 most viewed posts I’ve done over the past year. Enjoy the blast from the past with the varying hair colors and picture quality! (Links posted from Left to Right; Top to Bottom)
Again, thank you for all of your support over the past year! I’m excited for the next year and every blogiversary after that! Don’t forget to follow, like, subscribe…(you know the drill) for all of my social media links! Big things are happening! ;)
I’m (duuuuh) linking up with Sara at Pearls and Curls for the Saturday Instagram Recap! I’m also excited to announce that as one of the first of many exciting August things: I’ll be making my home over on her sidebar this month! So head over there and show her some love! I hope y’all had a great week and are enjoying your weekend so far! :) Also, if you’d like more of me and my instagram, follow me: @Daniefaz.
It’s always better late than never in my book. I’m finally posting my San Diego recap. San Diego is probably my favorite place in the world. If I could live anywhere, it’d be here. I’ve been here no less than 15 times and I find something new to fall in love with every time. It also holds a special place in my heart because the first time I went was the last family vacation when my parents were still together and it was also the first vacation that Fancy Pants and I took together for his 19th birthday. This trip was solely intended for the OMBAC Over the Line Championship which FP and I both played in. (If you don’t know what Over the Line is, I have pictures below or just google it haha) We played all day Saturday, but were able to spend the rest of the weekend enjoying SD and the beautiful California sunshine!
Friday: We used Friday to explore the area around our hotel: the Hilton Bayfront. In all of the times I’ve been to SD, I had never been in this area near the Padres stadium. It was really cool to be downtown even though we got a bit lost. Fancy Pants also took me to Seaport Village which is like a town within SD and it was absolutely perfect right on the water. You must must MUST go. We ate a delicious dinner with a view of the bay at the Harbor House. The whole night was perfect just getting to walk for miles even though I had blisters for days. Saturday: The day started bright and early at Fiesta Island as in 6:30 am early. The day drinking had already begun even before the first balls were hit at 7:30, so you can imagine what it was like by 7:30 that night. The boys played consistently well all day and didn’t lose their first game until around 2 pm which was awesome. The girls on the other hand started the day with the bye and we didn’t even play once until after 1 which was ridiculous. The boys were one game away from making it to the next round the following weekend which was awesome for them, but unfortunately our team were literally 2 and done because of the double elimination. We went home in a packed SUV of 7 with sunburns and exhaustion. Sunday: SEAWORLD DAY! Seriously, I was pumped for this all weekend. Ever since we didn’t get to go for my birthday, I’ve been dying to go. Fancy Pants and I both love Sea World and hadn’t been in years and were stoked to go! We had an amazing day full of shows, KILLER WHALES, sea animals, laughing, and lathering each other with aloe and sunscreen all day. Thank you so much hun for the best day ever and also making me face my fear of heights with the scary Bayside Skyride that ironically had the best views of the whole city! (prepare for picture overload because we couldn’t get enough!) Monday: We decided to spend our last day on Coronado Island at the beach. We caught the ferry behind our hotel in the morning and walked all the way through town to the Hotel del Coronado, which is again, one of my favorite places. (What isn’t though?) Being on the beach and island with FP was the perfect end to an amazing trip. I think it’s a bit obvious by the pictures that we had an incredible time and it was the perfect summer getaway. I literally have no idea how I’m going to document our two and half week vacation to Italy without literally creating a whole separate blog. haha, but we’ll cross that bridge in October when we get there. ;)

I’m linking up with Sara at Pearls & Curls, so go check out her blog and link up as well! I hope you guys are all having a fabulous weekend. I will be spending most of my day in bed because I’m still feeling yuck and I have lots of blog planning in the works! Random, but if you love my weekly notes and my thursday pick me ups, please like me on facebook because I post a lot more of that type of stuff on there on the reg, plus you’ll have a one up once I have a giveaway! ;)
This is the quote currently found on the white board in my newly rearranged office. I thought about how accurate it was that I keep pushing for things to happen that just won’t happen. The only result of beating on a wall for too long is you’ll end up hurting yourself not the wall. Because it just won’t open the opportunities of a door. If you’ve noticed (I hope you’ve noticed!) that I haven’t been posting on MGD this week and it’s Wednesday…wahhh!? Yeah. Just too much swirling around in my head and in my life to get a legitimate post together. I have 4 drafts written, yuck! So I figured a Weekly Notes post was the easiest way to hopefully get me out of this rut.
Some weeks are just crap, but there’s always little reminders of the good in your life.
You can’t control other people’s actions, you can only control how you react.
If your windshield wiper blade is broken, get it fixed asap because it will rain and you’ll regret not being able to see while driving home.
Don’t try to get through 6 one hour tv shows on your DVR before bed because you will fall asleep on the couch and not wake up until 5:30 am and that SUCKS.
If you’re ready to talk about something, talk. If you don’t want to talk or you’re not ready, don’t. Not speaking is better than saying things you’ll regret, in my opinion.
When your office is in shambles with everything all over the floor and it’s time for you to go home, take the time to clean it up because if you’re anything like me, you will end up coming back at 7:30 that night and clean it up anyway.
Sorry I’m not sorry, it’s legitimate to be ridiculously excited that Kate finally gave birth to the new heir to the throne, A PRINCE!
If things are great, say they’re great. It will boost your morale!
Sometimes people talk in circles, they say things just to get a rise out of you, or to get your approval, those people are the honey dew in your fruit salad. ;) (Thanks Coral)
If you want to rap to, “Super Bass, do it and even video Snapchat it to all of those wonderful people that will appreciate something so ridiculous.
Seek the doors and open them, stop beating on walls.
