Yesterday the beautiful brand, Everly, released their Fall 2013 Lookbook and I died and went to heaven. I really will let the photos speak for themselves because they’re beautiful. The clothing is such perfection. I love that the pieces don’t scream fall because it makes them easy to transition from season to season and that increases the wearibility. (Is that a word? No? Oh well.) I think the bold patterns make an amazing statement and can easily be paired with any neutrals. Plus, the polka dot dress…I need. Definitely go check out their lookbook for even more of these incredible photos. All Photos Via Everly
I know you’re probably thinking, “Danielle, just how many colored blazers do you have?” At any given time, my closet is stocked with 5-6 blazers and only two of those are black. I consider blazers not only a wardrobe essential, but a staple. This one is special because it was a Christmas present from my momma. After seeing it at Gap early last fall and falling in love with it, my mom went back and snatched it up for me. I’ve been patiently waiting to style it for work. I knew the black pants and oxford would pair so wonderfully with it especially when I added the matching colored pumps.

There’s nothing more comfy than an oversized sweater, messy ponytail, and moccasins. It’s one of my go to weekend lounging looks, so because I was so sleepy this morning I decided to channel the comfy into a striped body con with tights. I decided to pull the purple in the striped skirt into my purple leopard scarf. The tights just made it warm and perfect. I definitely wouldn’t have made it through my long meeting filled Thursday without the comfort of this outfit.

Literally found the most perfect title for these posts: outfit reflections because come on I’m taking them in mirrors and doors…literal reflections. Okay, you get it. Sometimes I’m just too witty for my own good. I frequently take pictures of my outfits in mirrors because I know they probably won’t make it into actual full ensemble posts, but are perfect for these. I like breaking down my day to day looks for work and play. A majority of the outfits you see in full posts are for work, but some of these are my weekend casuals which I have requests for too. So let’s get to it — some of my December Outfit Reflections.

When I saw this sweater on the awesome Hope’s online website, I knew it had to be mine. It’s striped and high low and has sequin elbow patches! What more can a girl ask for? OH yeah it’s so comfy too. I’ve been loving elbow patches, but until this sweater couldn’t find a top with them that was perfect for my closet. This “What I Like About You” sweater is a cozy winter must have. I was excited to get it in the mail and I wore it today for the first time with one of my Christmas gifts: this sensational Louis Vuitton Speedy 35 from Fancy Pants. The sweater is adorable in itself, but the unexpected girly sequin elbows got rave compliments from the girls around the office. Definitely check out Hope’swebsite. This site is constantly stocking the cutest clothing and accessories at really reasonable prices with fast processing/shipping.

The colder it gets, the higher the collar is getting in the fashion world. The Peter Pan is still in full swing and I’m still crazy about it. I’ve traded in my pretend collar for this real sequin-y one similar to Pretty Little Liars’ star, Troian Bellisario. This whole outfit was inspired by her outfit on Good Morning America earlier this year including from pony tail to skirt. I also added the extra fun with the sparkly polka dot black tights which I’m OBSESSED with! This was the perfect super girly outfit to dress up for work.
This outfit was all about easy preppy. This cardigan reminiscent of Danny Zuko at the end of Grease, was hanging in my closet and I couldn’t believe I had never worn it before. It’s so adorable and perfectly me: pink and monogrammed with my last initial. ;) I tossed on a white t-shirt and threw on my J.Crew Pixie Pant. I rave about these a lot, but they’re seriously perfect. They’re like fancy leggings because they’re thick and perfect for work because they’re slimming with seams down the back. They seem expensive, but for the amazing quality and how often you’ll wear them, they’re worth EVERY penny.
Fur vests are huge right now. They’re everywhere on everyone. Thankfully I didn’t have to spend the money to jump on the bandwagon because my mom bought a fur vest a year ago. I’m not big into vests to be honest. There’s a very short amount of time that you could even wear one in Arizona, but there’s something so cute about fur ones. I think they’re trendy and edgy, but still able to be matched with basics without looking too “rock and roll Mick Jagger.” haha. That’s absolutely right up my alley. I went simple with mine pairing it with a plum jeggings, black wedges, and a black long sleeve t-shirt. It was the perfect casual dressy combination for my staff meeting at work . I think this is a great day to night transition outfit. Pair it with nude flats for school or work and then switch out the pink lip for a berry or red and add heels.

I have a serious addiction to big cozy sweaters, but they can overwhelming on my frame. The solution — belting them. I actually have this same one in ivory as well. They’re my favorite easy outfits because I can just switch up the belt or scarf and wear them with jeans or leggings and boots. This morning I pressed snoozed one too many times and came up with this outfit with my head still on the pillow. I threw this on and swiped COVERGIRL’s awesome blastflipstick in Vixen (review to come from BzzAgent) to add something special to my look. It made for a comfy and easy day at work while still feeling cute on no sleep.
If there’s any trend that truly never goes out of style for fall and winter, it’s plaid. Plaid is one of those completely versatile patterns that can be put on anything and worn anywhere. There’s an unlimited number of color schemes for any number of clothing pieces or accessories. It’s not just for farmers or Catholic school uniforms anymore! It can be dressed up in a mini dress for a holiday party with a leather jacket or dressed down in a simple plaid long sleeve with jeans and flats. Plaid can work with any style because it can be the bold centerpiece of an outfit. It can also be downplayed as a neutral add on in a lighter colored pattern to showcase another outfit staple. Plaid is also found at almost any store for any budget especially during the winter months, so don’t hesitate to search around for your perfect plaid pieces.
