I’m a huge fan of the sixties housewife style. Call me old fashioned, but I like to think of my style as classic with a edge. I paired this fabulous polka dot shirtdress with stud pumps (similar to the beautiful Valentino, but like 5% of the cost and just as fabulous looking!) and my DIY pearl safety pin necklace. I think it’s the perfect mix of girly with the polka dots and pearls and edgy with the studs and safety pins. It’s all about keeping them guessing! Living in Arizona, I take advantage of every opportunity that I can to wear my hot pink rain boots. It was pouring one day this week, so I eagerly grabbed my rain boots and paired them with my striped shirt and pencil skirt. The boots, bag, and lipstick added the perfect pop of pink to my rainy day attire. By the way, yes the striped shirt is from the Target Girls section, that link was not a mistake. These are my favorite long sleeve tops and they’re SO inexpensive! Top: Target | Skirt: LOFT | Boots: Sperry | Crossbody: Steve Madden (similar) | Necklace: Hope’s | Lips: MAC Daddy’s Little Girl
The day before the 4th, I went into one of my favorite boutiques, Apricot Lane, and the owner recommended this perfect peplum top! OBSESSED! I love the white lace and how it flatters my figure. The back is see thru, but with a matching cardigan, it’s great for work! I’ve been honestly wearing it nonstop though. Please enjoy the setting of the pictures in front of my office and also Fancy Pants’ reflection in the windows! (And his thumbs up haha) I should also point out his “sexy truck,” his words of course ;). Top: Apricot Lane (found in stores) | Cardigan: Q (similar) | Pants: Target | Wedges: Charlotte Russe (save | splurge) | Necklace: White House Black Market (similar)
One of the easiest and most unexpected ways to make the most of your wardrobe no matter the season is to find the dresses that you can wear as skirts. You can do this either by belting with a sweater in the fall or winter or tying a tanktop or chambray in the spring and summer. I love it with chambrays over a pattern dress like this tribal one. You get more use out of your dresses and your closet feels fuller without any new purchases season to season! Dress (worn as a skirt): Target | Chambray: Old Navy (similar) | Wedges: Charlotte Russe (save | splurge) | Crossbody: Rebecca Minkoff | Lips: maybelline baby lips in pink shock | Nails: essie miss fancy pants
Whoever said that maxi skirts were the summer version of yoga pants…was absolutely right. I like to pretend that I’m all kinds of put together when I’m wearing one, but it’s really just comfortable and versatile. My new found way to wear is with that wonderful silk cami I raved about with a an easy top knot. Perfect for an almost rainy and super windy day that happened right after I took these pictures. #bloggerprobs
Oh my goodness this romper! I saw this in the LOFT window a few weeks ago and have been lusting. Two days ago, we got a LOFT package on our doorstep and my mom had picked it up for me!! Because truly it’s the perfect romper: comfortable, fun, polka dots, and HAS POCKETS! Need I say more? I think it’s a great romper to dress up or down depending upon the accessories. Cardi and sandals for everyday or wedges and a nice bag for going out. Right now, you can get it for 30% off online with the code: LOVELOFT. Romper: LOFT | Wedges: Forever21 (splurge/save) | Bag: Olivia + Joy | Belt: Forever21 (similar) | Necklace: Banana Republic | Nails: OPI Designer de Better
These chino shorts are my absolute fave. They go with everything since I consider hot pink a neutral. ;) I picked up this great summer to fall transition blouse and knew it’d be great to pair with those shorts. Black and white is going to be huge for the fall and it’s still light enough to wear now. Plus, I’m clearly still in the obsession phase with my RM 5 Zip Mini! This was a great look to wear to a casual birthday lunch and then to a family bbq. Top: Target | Shorts: Banana Republic | Flats: Target | Crossbody: Rebecca Minkoff | Watch: Michael Kors | Belt: H&M (splurge/save)
My romper addiction grows daily. Truly, if I could wear a romper all day every day, I would. Just ask my mom, it’s that bad. This is the newest one in my collection and I’m obsessed with the fun tribal print. It’s cute, comfortable, and so summer appropriate. It’s also just long enough (a typical issue for rompers) and it has an adorable heart cut out in the back for an extra something. Fancy Pants took these amazing style photos after we got lost for 45 minutes looking for a Chase Bank in downtown San Diego, there’s always a positive to every negative right? I’d also like to share the wonderful fact that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started today and in this post, I’m sharing my purchase from the Early Access: my Rebecca Minkoff 5 Zip Mini Crossbody bag with silver hardwear. I looooove. It’s a perfect size for all of the essentials, a perfect color for year round, and a perfect price right now during the sale!!
My love for this denim vest shouldn’t be any surprise. It’s been one of my most versatile warm weather pieces this year. I decided change up the look of a simple strapless maxi by half way buttoning up the vest over top for the look of a shirt. It was crazy slimming and hit my waist at the tiniest part. I think it’s a perfect addition to any maxi, especially a patterned one for a great Bohemian look. Plus, if you didn’t notice from my last personal style post, my hair is darker! Eeeps! This is my natural color and I’ve fallen back in love with it. I also decided to take the plunge and get a Brazilian blowout and let me just tell you, best hair decision ever. But that’s another post for another day. ;)

I hope everyone had a great 4th! I went to see The Heat (SO hilar!) with my mom and Grims. Fancy Pants and I went to dinner and parked in a dirt lot to watch nearby fireworks while sitting on the bed of his truck. It was really really laid back and nice. (Instagram video of Fancy Pants talking during the fireworks found here.) Too bad I had to work today. :(What July4th outfit would be complete without obnoxious ‘MERICA themed shorts?! Seriously.
I wanted to share a few of the things I was loving this week even though it’s almost 2:00 on Friday. I wanted to whip one post out for today. Better late than never right?
You should start out July with the most fun iPhone/iPad/Computer background ever from Harriet Ann Creative. Red, white, and blue with adorable LOBSTERS just screams summer!
Currently my favorite song, heard it everywhere all the time in LA and now it’s just everywhere and I love.It just makes me wanna groove out all the time. (Do people say that? …No? Okay then it’s still awesome.)
Denim shorts are an absolute summer must have living in Arizona, but lots of girls don’t know how to wear them day to day without looking like you’re a beach bum. Katie of Katie’s Blissshares how she styles them, impeccably I might add, and links to other fashionable ladies who do too!
I just need this Aphrodite USB Hub for my desk because quite frankly, I have too many USB things to plug in all the time. Plus it’s fabulous.
