Creamsicle Cute

DSC04730bThe weather is showing no signs of breaking yet, so I feel like I’m running out of options that fit under the umbrella of cute, but cool (as in don’t make me feel like it’s 500 degrees outside!) Fancy Pants and I celebrated our anniversary on Sunday at dinner and the Arizona Science Center. (Nerd alert!) I decided to pair my favorite Lilly skirt with this bright orange creamsicle tshirt. I wanted to add something to make it really pop, so I finally got to wear my Ily Couture fringe necklace!! Currently it’s not shipping until September 2nd, so if you can’t wait, check it out on Benevolent Jewels (and use this code for 20% off your total purchase: MGDCODE20)!!!

Pink Pop

These chino shorts are my absolute fave. They go with everything since I consider hot pink a neutral. ;) I picked up this great summer to fall transition blouse and knew it’d be great to pair with those shorts. Black and white is going to be huge for the fall and it’s still light enough to wear now. Plus, I’m clearly still in the obsession phase with my RM 5 Zip Mini! This was a great look to wear to a casual birthday lunch and then to a family bbq.

Walk on the Wild Side

DSC04030While my camera self timer and I are still at odds and my brother has a job, I’m finding it more difficult each day to get shots that I actually love especially when it’s 115 and I’m dying outside. These pictures may have turned out a bit more artsy than I anticipated, but I think they’re a great showcase of how to make a simple cotton LBD a little wild.

C’est la vie

DSC03965 copyLong time no talk, lovelies! I’m back from LA and attempting to settle back into a normal routine. This will be the first post that I took my own outfit photos. Let me just tell you, it’s not easy because it’s like a guessing game of what’s in focus and how the lighting looks, etc. Please bear with me as this is a work in progress. Also in the next few weeks, you’ll be seeing some changes to my layout and everything as I make the switch over to being self hosted on which I’m VERY excited about. (I’m also really nervous, but hopefully I’ll avoid having a nervy b during the process.)

Now onto the outfit. I picked up this adorable t-shirt at Banana Republic (see below for a coupon code!!) before LA last week and decided to pair it with a simple black flowy mini skirt. It looked a bit boring that way so I loved being able to pull the color of the C’est la vie on the shirt with a scarf and also the stripes in the zebra print on the scarf. I also wanted to use this as a sneak peek into what the layout colors will be because they just happen to match my outfit! ;)

Lazy Day

This is basically my lazy day uniform at work. It’s those mornings where I don’t feel like trying or especially the days leading up to a vacation where I have an “anywhere, but here mentality,” aka today. Comfort trumps all else, but I love to add a pop of neon in my new favorite t-shirts for fun.

Black & White Abstract

I went on a bit of Hope’s binge in the past week because my goodness, their summer stuff is just THE CUTEST. When I saw the So Abstract top, I just died. I loved the unique pattern, but of course it was the bow cut out sleeve detailing that just sold me. The top is a great black and white with a pop of coral on the sleeve that I paired with my favorite red pants from Target. I also wore my new Forever21 sunglasses that are keeping my lust at bay for the Prada Baroques…for now. This top sold out quickly as most of Hope’s adorable items do, but subscribe to their email newsletter for new items and possible restocks! Also, because it’s WEDNESDAY, I’ve linked up with the beautiful Adrienne at Black, White, Color for Trending Pretty Wednesday and you guys should too!

Lime Attack

Please pardon the setting of my outfit photos today. That was my disclaimer since Fancy Pants graciously took these in his apartment before he took me out to celebrate my birthday weekend. I paired this great silk lime green tank with a black circle skirt. I also got to “rock” some new accessories from my newest Rocksbox. I die over this chevron cuff and small bar necklace. I think they’re the perfect statement items that really amp up any outfit. I also purchased this amazing silver clutch from Banana Republic’s new Milly line that has lime green accents. For more information on how amazing Rocksbox works. Please see this post of mine!

Navy and Green Sheath

DSC03634You know those moments in a clothing store when an item just grabs your attention and screams buy me? This dress called my name. I was in Banana Republic with Fancy Pants with a whole slew of sale rack of striped dresses and decided I needed to try this on too. Of course this was my favorite and full price. Weeks later, a 40% sale popped up, and this was coming home with me. It’s a perfect classic work dress that will be a great one to also wear to a nice dinner or date. Plus, it has pockets! CHA CHING. I decided to play up the color blocking of the navy and green with the purple pumps. Big thank you to my Work BFF, Mindy, for snapping these on our lunch break yesterday since G was working.  :)

Graduation Dresses

I can hear the pomp and circumstance now. You’ve probably already attended a graduation or two or maybe even three. (Lucky you! haha) Shopping for dresses to attend graduations is always a bit of a project because you don’t want to spend a lot and you probably want to find something you’ll wear again sometime this summer. I’ve rounded up a few great and fun options that you’re sure to pull out of your closet again for a BBQ or a date night this season. I think the key is find something you love  or else you won’t wear it again and make sure it will keep you cool and comfortable for the waiting around to take pictures and the mingling at the grad party.

*If the third dress above sells out in your size, which isn’t shocking for popular Hope’s, head over to for even more options DAILY. They have a great selection of unique and gorgeous dresses for every summer occasion. You’re sure to find something you’ll fall in love with, so scoop it up fast!

Gingham Girl

DSC03429Two of my summer must haves were a chambray blazer and gingham button down. Picking up both of these was a match made in heaven for casual Friday. The blazer is so light and goes with everything including denim itself. I found it by accident at Marshall’s and was quite excited! I think it will be great to style this season.

I’m also rocking a Gorjana bracelet from my first RocksBox that I received from iFabbo as a 6 month membership gift certificate!  I love the style of this wrap bracelet and I love the color and how well it pairs with my style! RockBox is a jewelry box subscription service for $19/month to try three pieces of curated designer high end jewelry per box. You can keep each box (all three pieces) for up to 60 days or return the box right away for 3 new pieces, but it’s always $19/month! The return shipping is already paid for because they provide  a package to send it back in which is great. Basically you fill out a style profile and that’s how they choose what goes in your box and if you love an item, or two, or all three, you can purchase them at 20% the retail!! Definitely check it out if you like switching up your jewelry like me! This is probably my favorite subscription service I’ve ever tried and definitely be on the look out for future styling of my RocksBox pieces!
