The Classic Striped Shift

DSC03356I picked up these three winning pieces in the last week. The Olivia + Joy bag is the perfect great staple black leather bag which surprisingly I didn’t have.  The perfect classic staple for any girl’s wardrobe — the navy striped dress. This one is a MUST on sale right now from Banana Republic! The ponte material keeps it form fitting and flattering combined with the elbow length sleeves. But really for me, one of my favorite purchases in a  long time (how often do I say that? haha) are these pointed toe pumps. My goodness, Marshalls you win again. Clearance BCBG light pink patent pumps. These three staples pull together a completely classic year round (in Arizona) look that will never be tired.

Orange Chevron

DSC02784

Chevron just screams fun, even for a Monday work day. I love the bright orange color that’s absolutely perfect for spring. I paired this great top with one of my new favorite pairs of work pants. If you know me, you know I’d wear leggings to work every day if I could. Well these are the closest thing I can get to leggings without ya know, being leggings. They’re comparable to the J.Crew Minnies at a fabulous Target price in a bunch of different colors. If you’re an office working girl, you must must MUST add them to your work wardrobe!  I just wish they hit right at my ankle like they’re supposed to. I’m a midget practically, so cuffing is a constant. Also, these photos were brought to you by the wind. It seems that every time I wear my hair done for blog photos it’s freaking WINDY, so I look like a crazy with my hair all over the place.

Outfit Reflections

Literally found the most perfect title for these posts: outfit reflections because come on I’m taking them in mirrors and doors…literal reflections. Okay, you get it. Sometimes I’m just too witty for my own good. I frequently take pictures of my outfits in mirrors because I know they probably won’t make it into actual full ensemble posts, but are perfect for these. I like breaking down my day to day looks for work and play. A majority of the outfits you see in full posts are for work, but some of these are my weekend casuals which I have requests for too. So let’s get to it — some of my December Outfit Reflections.

All Patched Up in Sequins

20121212_170647NEW

When I saw this sweater on the awesome Hope’s online website, I knew it had to be mine. It’s striped and high low and has sequin elbow patches! What more can a girl ask for? OH yeah it’s so comfy too. I’ve been loving elbow patches, but until this sweater couldn’t find a top with them that was perfect for my closet. This “What I Like About You” sweater is a cozy winter must have. I was excited to get it in the mail and I wore it today for the first time with one of my Christmas gifts: this sensational Louis Vuitton Speedy 35 from Fancy Pants. The sweater is adorable in itself, but the unexpected girly sequin elbows got rave compliments from the girls around the office. Definitely check out Hope’s website. This site is constantly stocking the cutest clothing and accessories at really reasonable prices with fast processing/shipping.

Christmas Gifts: For Me

Oh yeah, that sounds really selfish this time of year hahaha. Since it’s absolutely inevitable that December will be filled with gift idea posts for others, I figured I’d start out with what I’m asking for first because quite frankly it’s the easiest. I’m a huge online shopper, so I’ve had this list in progress for months. My mom made me limit myself in the number of monogrammed gifts I could ask for because apparently I go aboard…who would have thought that!?

  • Michael Kors Fulton Harness Boot- Obsessed! These have all of the qualities in riding boot that I’ve been looking for, plus they’re not as expensive as the precious Tory Burch’s. ($295)
  • Sigma Beauty Mrs. Bunny Essential Kit– This has something I’ve put off purchasing because I knew I wanted it for Christmas. I need a set of great brushes desperately especially ones that are already travel friendly! ($120)
  • Medium Monogram Necklace– I’ve been dying for one of these for ages. BaubleBar’s version is reasonably priced and has your choice of metal and chain length! ($105-115)
  • Disney Cinderella Storylook Eyeshadow Palette– This eyeshadow palette is in gorgeous packaging, but the shadows are even prettier. I saw Temptalia’s review and then swatched it in person and fell in love. ($55)
  • Lilly Pulitzer Mini Wristlet Glitter- This is so right up my alley. Glitter and Lilly, what more could you want? This will be perfect for running errands, going to the gym, or wearing on a night out. ($58)
  • Monogrammed Champ Pink Weekend Travel Bag– Marley Lilly’s monogrammed gifts are phenomenal and this is no exception. I need a good weekender for an upcoming trip in January! This one comes in 8 other girls with so many monogramming options!  ($44.99)
  • Jets V-Neck Raglan Tee- It wouldn’t be a Danielle christmas list without some sports team apparel. These t-shirt will be great for layering on Sundays with my Tervis. And of course they have all of the other teams, but why would you choose another? ;) ($36.50)

Now if you’re looking for a gift for me, you have ideas. ;) haha just kidding. Hope y’all have a great Saturday!

Tweed Dreams

There’s something so classic about tweed. It’s one of those fall fashion trends that always seems to come back time and time again. For me, it never goes out of style. If Chanel can do it, I can do it. This tailored tweed jacket is my mom’s and she’s had it for years and years. I remember the first time I wore it sophomore year of high school with my new Coach bag. I felt so stylish and even putting it on now, I still feel so polished and serious like I could kick some ass in a board room meeting. I know some people think tweed can look a little old or dated especially for someone in their 20s, but with the right accessories, I think it can be totally young.
