Yesterday the beautiful brand, Everly, released their Fall 2013 Lookbook and I died and went to heaven. I really will let the photos speak for themselves because they’re beautiful. The clothing is such perfection. I love that the pieces don’t scream fall because it makes them easy to transition from season to season and that increases the wearibility. (Is that a word? No? Oh well.) I think the bold patterns make an amazing statement and can easily be paired with any neutrals. Plus, the polka dot dress…I need. Definitely go check out their lookbook for even more of these incredible photos. All Photos Via Everly
This is my year round go to look when I don’t feel like actually trying. Depending on the season or the occasion, I’ll swap out the flats for sandals or boots and the short sleeve shirt for a long sleeve or tank top. I think it’s all in the details when you’re wearing just a tshirt and jeans. I ADORE my newest Rocksbox pieces including this dainty gold feather necklace from Urban Gem! Rocksbox is the most amazing jewelry subscription service. Each box has three designer jewelry pieces based on your preferences (colors, metals, types, etc) and you can keep them for up to 60 days or return your box as often as you’d like for three new ones sent to you! If you fall in love with any or all of the pieces, you can buy them for 20% off the retail price! I received a 6 month subscription for free to try out, but I have loved it so much that once it expires, I will be renewing for either $15/month for a year, $17/month for six months, or $19 monthly! It’s the perfect way to constantly change up your jewelry as often as you’d like! Tshirt: Target | Jeans: American Eagle | Flats: Target (old / similar here) | Necklace: Urban Gem c/o Rocksbox
Disclaimer: I received this Rocksbox 6 month subscription for free, but all opinions and reviews are honest and my own and I am not being compensated. As always, I only review products relevant to my blog and my readers.
I’m a huge fan of the sixties housewife style. Call me old fashioned, but I like to think of my style as classic with a edge. I paired this fabulous polka dot shirtdress with stud pumps (similar to the beautiful Valentino, but like 5% of the cost and just as fabulous looking!) and my DIY pearl safety pin necklace. I think it’s the perfect mix of girly with the polka dots and pearls and edgy with the studs and safety pins. It’s all about keeping them guessing! Dress: Gap (ON SALE RIGHT NOW!) | Heels: Windsor | Necklace: DIY | Bag: Longchamp | Nails: essie fiji
The weather is showing no signs of breaking yet, so I feel like I’m running out of options that fit under the umbrella of cute, but cool (as in don’t make me feel like it’s 500 degrees outside!) Fancy Pants and I celebrated our anniversary on Sunday at dinner and the Arizona Science Center. (Nerd alert!) I decided to pair my favorite Lilly skirt with this bright orange creamsicle tshirt. I wanted to add something to make it really pop, so I finally got to wear my Ily Couture fringe necklace!! Currently it’s not shipping until September 2nd, so if you can’t wait, check it out on Benevolent Jewels (and use this code for 20% off your total purchase: MGDCODE20)!!! Tshirt: Banana Republic | Skirt: Lilly Pulitzer | Necklace: ILY Couture (also Benevolent Jewels) | Sandals: Target | Crossbody Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Nails: essie fiji
While I’m starting to build my fall wardrobe, I find myself being drawn to tulle, blush pinks, and flats despite my usual autumn taste for deep colors and boots. I mean, I’ve always had ballerina as my fall back career anyway. Even if you didn’t put down ballerina as your future job in kindergarten, don’t even tell me you’re not lusting over those amazing Chloe flats too.
EXACTLY one year ago today I pressed Publish on my first blog post on Miss Glam Dan. If you’ve known me for more than a few years, you’ll probably know I’ve been an avid blogger since 7th grade. (Don’t go looking for any of those early blogs, they’re melodramatic and full of “omg I’m so in love” after two weeks of knowing someone.) First LiveJournal through middle school, Blogger through high school, Tumblr in college, and now WordPress. I never could have imagined the love, support, and friendships I’d gain through blogging in any form. Miss Glam Dan has been first seriously consistent stint with blogging and I’ve only fallen more in love with it over the past year. I never thought I could be a fashion blogger because at one time, I only had my Blackberry and a crappy 8 mega pixel camera and a closet that I thought I’d only be interested in. Boy was I wrong! :) I figured I’d do this Friday Link Love with links to my top 5 favorite posts and the top 5 most viewed posts I’ve done over the past year. Enjoy the blast from the past with the varying hair colors and picture quality! (Links posted from Left to Right; Top to Bottom)
Again, thank you for all of your support over the past year! I’m excited for the next year and every blogiversary after that! Don’t forget to follow, like, subscribe…(you know the drill) for all of my social media links! Big things are happening! ;)
Living in Arizona, I take advantage of every opportunity that I can to wear my hot pink rain boots. It was pouring one day this week, so I eagerly grabbed my rain boots and paired them with my striped shirt and pencil skirt. The boots, bag, and lipstick added the perfect pop of pink to my rainy day attire. By the way, yes the striped shirt is from the Target Girls section, that link was not a mistake. These are my favorite long sleeve tops and they’re SO inexpensive! Top: Target | Skirt: LOFT | Boots: Sperry | Crossbody: Steve Madden (similar) | Necklace: Hope’s | Lips: MAC Daddy’s Little Girl
The day before the 4th, I went into one of my favorite boutiques, Apricot Lane, and the owner recommended this perfect peplum top! OBSESSED! I love the white lace and how it flatters my figure. The back is see thru, but with a matching cardigan, it’s great for work! I’ve been honestly wearing it nonstop though. Please enjoy the setting of the pictures in front of my office and also Fancy Pants’ reflection in the windows! (And his thumbs up haha) I should also point out his “sexy truck,” his words of course ;). Top: Apricot Lane (found in stores) | Cardigan: Q (similar) | Pants: Target | Wedges: Charlotte Russe (save | splurge) | Necklace: White House Black Market (similar)
One of the easiest and most unexpected ways to make the most of your wardrobe no matter the season is to find the dresses that you can wear as skirts. You can do this either by belting with a sweater in the fall or winter or tying a tanktop or chambray in the spring and summer. I love it with chambrays over a pattern dress like this tribal one. You get more use out of your dresses and your closet feels fuller without any new purchases season to season! Dress (worn as a skirt): Target | Chambray: Old Navy (similar) | Wedges: Charlotte Russe (save | splurge) | Crossbody: Rebecca Minkoff | Lips: maybelline baby lips in pink shock | Nails: essie miss fancy pants
