Oxblood is the new Black

There’s one color that has seriously exploded for this season and it’s for sure — oxblood. Oxblood is described as a dark brownish-red color which sounds atrocious by definition, but it’s seriously beautiful. I’m not a huge fan of black outfit items, they’re great staples (ie: LBD, black cardigan etc), but I like to stray away from it as often as I can. I think Oxblood is a great way to achieve that deep color in your outfit without letting it take over by being too much color. Oxblood is like the fraternal twin sister of Burgundy. Oxblood just has a tinge more of a brown coloring than burgundy, but burgundy can be more available (and cheaper!) and achieve a similar look.

As you can see, there’s so many ways you can incorporate Oxblood into your style depending on your comfort level and how much you want the color to stand out. If you’re looking just for a little pop of it, go for nail polish, but if you want the color to be the star, go for a dress or a pant. The color is so versatile and is great paired with other neutrals and even with other deeper colors as well. I think it’s a must for every fall wardrobe in some way or another!
